Some of these striking designs were originally found on ancient Mimbreño bowls.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eCenturies later, renowned architect and designer Mary Colter drew inspiration from Mimbreño artwork to create a distinctive china pattern for the Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe Railways elite Super Chief Two dining cars. Colter, best known for her architectural contributions to the Fred Harvey Company—including iconic Grand Canyon structures like the Hopi House, Hermit’s Rest, Lookout Studio, and Desert View Watchtower—crafted 37 unique Mimbreño-style drawings to adorn the dinnerware.
